Provide members of the parish (fourth grade and up) with a true opportunity to function as lay ministers by reverently assisting the priest presider and/or deacon during Sunday Mass and at special liturgies throughout the year.*
Provides members of the parish the opportunity to proclaim the Word of God Clearly and understandably so that all who hear may respond.*
May sometimes act as Greeters,however their primary duty is offering assistance to those in need including directing people to pews or to restrooms, taking up the collection(s), distrubuting parish bulletins at the end of Mass, distributing othe materials as needed and providing other services as needed.*
Assist, faciliatate, and provide support and coordination for othe liturgical ministries. In addition, they make the necessary preparartions for liturgical activities, including setting up for Mass.*
Serve to assist the priest and/or deacon during Holy Communion. The Lay Faithful serving in the ministry must be practicing adult Catholics in good standing and approved by the pastor and the bishop. It is the bishop who gives the pastor mandate to commision Lay Faithful for this important ministry. These ministers are typically commissioned every three years.*
Bring Holy Communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in their own homes and who are unable to get to church.*
