We have a new RCIA program this year that will be more spiritually based with more faith sharing. We are really excited about this new program. If you know someone who is interested in the Catholic Faith or never received their 1st Communion and/or Confirmation, this will be a great opportunity for them. Please consider asking someone to join the church, even if you have asked them before. The RCIA classes will be starting on Thursday, September 12th at 7 pm in the IC Parish Center. The classes will last between 1-1.5 hours.

Back From the Dead
The parish, in conjunction with St. Joseph Church in Salix, is currently planning an event called Back From the Dead. Back From the Dead is a cemetery walk (around Halloween/All Saints day) in which people walk through the cemetery. While walking, saints approach them from the cemetery and tell them about their visions and mystical experiences concerning the afterlife (Heaven, Hell and Purgatory) and faith, hope and love. We are currently looking for actors (male and female, young and old) to play the various parts. This cemetery walk will be taking place on Sunday, Oct. 27th from 6-8pm (with a rain date of Tuesday, Oct, 29th) and on Friday, Nov. 1st from 6-8 pm. The event will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Salix. We will be gathering at the parish center at St. Joseph Church and we will shuttle you back and forth from the cemetery as there is no parking at the cemetery. Please contact Mary Lehr at 712-898-7513, if you are interested in acting or helping out with this event.
Meet with Father after Mass
A reminder that Father will greet people after Mass and will then be available in front of the altar if you would like to talk to him about any struggles that you are facing or would like him to pray with you.
Mater Dei Personal Products Pantry
Advent is a special time for making gifts to the pantry. During this season as we await the birth of Jesus Christ, you may bring your gifts to the altarbefore or after Mass. There will also be a basket at the altar marked for the pantry for monetary gifts. Thank you for sharing your gifts with those in need in our community.
